eDNA methods in environmental monitoring: where are we on the road for routine implementation
Environmental DNA (eDNA) methods are developing rapidly and are increasingly discussed as promising tools for biodiversity and environmental monitoring. This webinar will provide an overview of the current state of eDNA methods, their potential applications in monitoring programmes, and the key challenges and opportunities related to their routine implementation. Particular attention will be given to standardisation efforts and international collaboration, which are essential to ensurecomparability and reliability across monitoring contexts.
The webinar will feature experts from the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), including Kristian Meissner and Tiina Laamanen, who are actively involved in the development and standardisation of eDNA methods at international level.
